Biog:

Hollie O’Brien has sung all her life, as they say ‘she could sing before she could talk’!

Hollie, a singer and backing vocalist for many years has performed all over the country appearing at some of the best nightclubs & venues up & down the Uk, including Wembley arena, Manchester Arena and Birmingham NEC to name a few.

She has performed alongside many established artists such as Jamelia, The Real Thing & Amy Winehouse.
Through this she has gained knowledge of the music industry and her talent alike making her passionate about every note she sings…

‘I have a massive love of harmonies; I believe that beautiful, well-sung harmonies can make a song, enhancing its sound and emotion. They are the scaffolding for the main line, holding it all together’.

No surprise then that one of her favourite artists is Bob Marley. Not only for the wonderful harmonies but for the emotion portrayed in each song.
‘I listen to him most days and instantly feel happier, he just has this feel good vibe that never fails to cheer me up’.

‘Music should create an emotion, that’s what I love about it. Whether it’s a song that creates happiness or one that makes you feel like your hearts being ripped out, I love the effect music can have on you’.

Although her love of music stems from the Motown era, when it comes to naming her favourite artists she has a problem…

‘There are just so many artists of all genres of music I listen to that I find it hard to pick any in particular, I always feel like i'm leaving someone out. I like what I like, sometimes I love everything an artist does sometimes I like just one song. You shouldn’t feel pressured to like everything, or listen to only one style of music. It’s your perogative to like whatever you choose to.
From Motown to Soul to smooth R’n’B, (D’Angelo and Eric Benet I must mention), From House to Rock to Indie to Chilled sounds of someone like Zero 7… They’re all I my record collection!’
